Podcasts
  • A Thorough Examination with Drs Chris & Xand

A podcast series following identical twin brothers who are also doctors, where one is obese and the other is of a healthy weight. This podcast looks at UPFs (Ultra Processed Foods), and is a real eye opener. We found it really interesting and it changed our view of processed foods and UPFs, making us think more about moving to a Whole Food diet.

Their blurb says “Drs Chris & Xand Van Tulleken explore if people can change and how they do it. How much of our personality is genetic destiny and how much are we shaped by the world around us?”

7 episodes in season 1. (Approx. 30 mins per episode)

  • Just One Thing – Dr Michael Moseley

A BBC podcast series where Dr Michael Mosley focuses on just one thing per episode that you can do to improve your overall health, wellbeing and in particular your longevity. We had fun trying quite a few of these, including standing on one leg whilst brushing your teeth, having cold showers and accessing natural light as soon as possible each morning.

Their blurb says “If time tight, what’s the one thing you should be doing to improve your health and wellbeing? Michael Mosley scientifically proven top tips to change your life”

8 episodes in season 1. (15 mins each)

  • Gutfull: What To Eat for a Happy Gut

A podcast series with Dr Joanna McMillan looking at how diet affects our microbiome and gut bacteria. Which foods have been demonised by the media and are actually crucial to a healthy and varied microbiome.

Their blurb is really long, but here’s a quote: “We know that gut health is important. What and how we eat affects your energy levels, your brain function, how you feel, your work performance, your skin, your weight, how well you age, your long term health. There isn’t much else in life under your control that has that kind of awesome power and all of these effects start with what happens in the gut.”

Only on Audible (not other podcast places). 10 episodes, between 15mins-30mins each.

  • Huberman Lab – Dr Andrew Huberman

Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and professor of neurobiology, psychiatry and behavioural sciences at Stanford School of Medicine. He has made numerous significant contributions to the fields of brain development, brain function and neural plasticity, which is the ability of our nervous system to rewire and learn new behaviours, skills and cognitive functioning. And he is constantly applying these skills to health, nutrition, sleep, breathing, exercise, and all other things to do with longevity. He has an incredible wealth of information available and will probably feature in every section of this newsletter. But for now – listen to his podcasts. They range on topics from:

  1. Sleep & Anxiety
  2. Nutrition, Supplementation & Fitness
  3. Maximising Recovery
  4. Learning, Memory and Emotional State
  5. How to Stop Headaches Using Science Based approaches
  6. Physical Endurance
  7. Intermittent Fasting
  8. Grieving
  9. Optimising Female Hormone Health

He uses really great scientific studies, which are backed up and often meta-analysed. These podcasts aren’t for light listening and you may even want a pen and paper!

His blurb says “Huberman Lab discuses neuroscience: how our brain and it’s connections with the organs of our body control our perceptions, our behaviours and our health. We also discuss existing and emerging tools for measuring and changing how our nervous system works.”

More episodes available than we could count! Find him on your podcast platform and you’ll be lost for ages! Some episodes are longer than 3 hours!

From Skinny-Fat to Shredded: My Journey

I’m Brad.

I know the struggle of being skinny-fat all too well—juggling late-night junk food binges, a demanding corporate night shift job, and years of frustration with no progress. At 30, I finally decided to take control, diving deep into the science of nutrition and strength training during night shift.

With 18 months of relentless dedication, I transformed my physique, competed in my first bodybuilding competition, and even represented Team Australia at the World Titles—all achieved naturally. If I could overcome my cravings and lifestyle challenges, so can you.

My mission is to help you break free from the skinny-fat cycle and build the body you’ve always wanted. Will you be next?
